You should know - to all those who have been part of my journey

You should know

You should know that if it wasn’t for the time you gave me, I wouldn’t have the passion I do today in wanting to help others in the same way you’ve helped me.

If it wasn’t for your strength and determination to not give up, I wouldn’t be where I am now living a life that I am able to enjoy.

You should know that if it wasn’t for the care and kindness you shared, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today.

If it wasn’t for the trust you instilled in me, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable to be myself , I would still be pretending to be someone I wasn’t.

You should know that if it wasn’t for the patience you had, I don’t think I’d be able to see the world through the lens I’m able to see through it now.

If it wasn’t for your words of encouragement, I wouldn’t have the confidence to be brave, to take risks. I wouldn’t get the excitement I do know when I do something that pushes me out of my comfort zone.

You should know that the smiles you gave me brightened up my days, the walks and talks we shared guided me in every way.

If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to do the things that I do today, to feel able to be myself and act myself and be who I really am.

You should know that I will continue to think of the things that you’ve said and will use them when I find myself in a tough situation.

If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now. You’ve helped me see the goodness in every day, you’ve shown me that acceptance is the only way.

You should know that although I am little scared for the journey ahead, I am also excited to see what’s around the corner. I’m excited to live my life.

If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t realise that it’s ok to not be ok – that I don’t have to be 100% all of the time.

You should know that you’ve inspired me in so many ways. You’ve taught me many valuable lessons that I hope, I can one day share and impact some other young person’s life in the same way that you’ve impacted mine.

Thank you for being part of my journey.
